Metamorphic Rocks

Metamorphic rocks are a type of rock formed by being prone to extreme heat or pressure. This type of rock is commonly found around the perimeter of a tectonic plate.

Due to the rocks splitting apart, some belive that some rocks are exceptionally weak but the heat generated by the movement of tectonic plates can vary from 750°C to 1000°C.
