Sedimentary Rocks

What are Sedimentary Rocks?

Sedimentary Rocks are a type of rocks that usually formed near

or below the ground level. These types of rocks are formed underneath bodies of water. Due to the compressed characteristics the rock is composed of many layers.

How are they formed?

Sedimentary rocks are formed from the compression of

natural minerals and particles also known as sediments. The

compression of these rocks is done near a source of water with other natural elements.

What are they formed by?

Sediments under the water are compressed by natural elements

such as clay, sand, mud and even bones. The weight of the natural elements that compress the sediments can range from 2,000 to 3,000 Kilograms.
